Goals and Support Provided by ZoNa Foundation

Our foundation was registered on July 13, 2023 by the Budapest Regional Court with the main activity of 8899'08 Other social care without accommodation not elsewhere classified. Our founder Márton Kosztolánszky and the chairperson of our board Hajnalka Alexa Kosztolánszky both worked for the police force. Following the loss of a close friend and colleague, they felt they had to do something for the deceased officer's children and family support, and after the first successful donation, they realized they could do this more effectively within an organized framework.

Following these events, they decided to create the foundation, and in the meantime, they contacted another deceased police officer's family, where their late colleague also left behind three young children. Over the past two years, the number of our regular beneficiaries has exceeded 50, and through occasional donations, we have reached and provided assistance to thousands of children.

How We Operate

The foundation's goal is to attract regular supporters who can participate in the financial support of the orphaned and semi-orphaned children of parents who belonged to the police force and professional personnel.

The foundation's revenue sources:
Corporate Support

Amounts determined as a percentage of revenue offered by businesses based on one-time or annual collection agreements.

Individual Donations

Donations collected on behalf of supported families from individuals and companies through direct transfers.

In-Kind Donations

Partnerships

The Foundation's board consists of 9 members, who receive no compensation for their participation. The foundation's costs consist only of fees paid for administrative, banking, and accounting tasks.

How We Help?

We regularly deliver our cash donations to supported families, but additionally, on special occasions (birthdays, Christmas), we strive to fulfill secret wishes of supported children that are difficult to achieve as a single parent or caregiver.

Sometimes, the greatest help for children is experiencing something – whether participating in a sporting event or meeting a role model – together with their family. In such cases, we try to organize the meeting, which remains as an eternal memory for the children and allows them to spend quality time with their loved ones.

Over the past two years, we have organized several charity sporting events, the proceeds of which covered the regular expenses of our beneficiaries. In 2024, we were honored that the achievement of our foundation's goals was actively supported by Lőrinc Nagyházi, co-owner of Nagyházi Gallery and Auction House – together with Viktor Molnár, owner of AMIKOR Gallery, and Péter Fertőszögi, art director of BÁV ART – through their participation in the Wheel of Fortune show.

This relationship deepened, and Lőrinc Nagyházi, who is now our honorary member, supported the ZoNa children in December 2024 by organizing a charity auction and has since been an active supporter of our board's work.

In the summer of 2025, we held the first ZoNa Creative Camp, hosted in Panyola. The winners of the Klára Mórucz-Kiss Scholarship Program came from among the children participating in the Creative Camp. We hope to maintain this noble tradition for many decades.

How Do We Collect Donations?

We have both occasional and regular supporters – both individuals and companies support our goals through us. We organize drawing contests, charity banquets, concerts, sporting events, exhibitions, where we draw attention to our foundation and the work of professionals.

We have established a close and extensive cooperation agreement with the National University of Public Service and held consultations about cooperation possibilities with the Hungarian Law Enforcement Association.

Our Plans for the Future

Our goal is to help the families included in our beneficiaries until the children reach adulthood or complete their higher education studies with our regular donations. We emphasize that this is not a one-time support, but we assure families of establishing a long-term relationship.

We offer background support that can be a reassuring guarantee for all professionals: if the worst should happen, their children and family would not be left alone. Furthermore, our goal is to involve more and more families in the circle of beneficiaries and build a community that helps the beneficiaries and guardians process their loss through shared experiences, including by ensuring the necessary professional – legal, psychological – background.

So far, regular support for more than thirty families has been resolved within the framework of the Foundation.

Among our long-term goals, following the registration of public benefit status, is to broaden our social support, make our goals known and visible to those who are most left alone by these tragedies.

Our priority goal is not only for children to receive support immediately after family tragedy, but to provide a safety net that stably ensures support. We implement projects through which the appreciation of professionals increases significantly and tangibly, and through which these semi-orphaned and orphaned children can again feel that they belong to a cohesive, supportive community through parental ties.
